New Chaplain at Wilmer Hall

Wilmer Hall is pleased to announce that the Rev. Pete Burgess, who serves as Curate for St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Mobile, has been named Chaplain for the 155-year-old Episcopal home for children and young adults. The Chaplain role goes back over a century and has been filled by well-known local priests such as the Rev. Hodge Alves and the Rev. Coleman Inge. The Chaplain provides pastoral care to Wilmer Hall residents on an as-needed basis and will lead a spiritual component to the Life Skills training program.

A native of Nashville, Pete studied at Centre College and the School of Theology at Sewanee. After teaching at UMS-Wright, he returned to seminary at Virginia Theological Seminary. He and his wife Emma live in Mobile and are expecting their first child in January.
