The month of May is delightful.

We attend graduations and enjoy beautiful weather . We ponder the mystery of our Lord’s Ascension and the gift of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. We also set aside the second Sunday in May to honor our mothers.

Mother’s Day floods our minds with memories of the woman who gave us birth, nurtured us through our tender years, encouraged us to do our best, and disciplined us with love. Our mothers were not perfect, but they were always by our side, protecting and providing for us. They deserve a special observance.

Wilmer Hall is the only home for children separated from their mothers. We also provide foster care homes, nurture teenagers as they enter adulthood, educate children with special needs and provide therapy for sexually abused children .

Over the past year , Wilmer Hall has moved away from the restrictions and limitations of government support. We are strengthening existing programs, developing new services, and expanding our ministry. These efforts began after prayerful consideration . Though many challenges are ahead, we believe that the Lord who has called us to these tasks will see us through them.
